We are an innovative NGO founded in 2006, providing a unique model of inclusive, non-institutional care for orphan girls including some with profound disabilities. The children are sent by the West Bengal Child Welfare Committee. These children have lost parents, extended family and connection with their community. Shishur Sevay provides trained 24/7 care in a family like setting - providing safety, medical care, education, arts & culture and a firm foundation in Indian heritage and customs. We are leaders in our advanced communication for our girls with severe Cerebral Palsy.

We are a model intended to be replicated, intended to set a standard of care for the orphaned and disabled. We are a model of inclusive living, inclusive education and we have a research and training center to be able to document and teach the methods we have developed. Our vision is for a society where orphaned children, those with abilities and disabilities are not segregated, but are valued as necessary members of our society.
